Writing as a Christian in the Post-Covid Era

Today’s article is a Call for Articles for the next issue of SEND.

Hi All,

Here at the Raven’s Writing Desk, we produce a magazine every other month called SEND which includes contributions from Christian writers from across the internet. The next issue is set for release in July and for the first time we’re including a theme which will run through the magazine and tie everything together. That’s not to say that we wouldn’t accept anything outside that scope, but that we’d love to make the magazine more cohesive from this point forward.

The general theme of July’s issue will be “Writing as a Christian in the Post-Covid Era,” that title may change—we might adopt a quote from one of the articles for instance.

Possible subjects could include:

• What I learned from being locked in my house

• The Fallacy of “I would do it if I simply had the time”

• Being inspired by the small things

• Writing online

• The challenges of entering a new world

• Polarisation in the media

• Family prayers and liturgy

Let your imagination run with the theme.

We’re looking for shorter and longer-form articles, prayers, poems, liturgical writings, and even fiction. The shortest pieces we’ve published have been poems up until now, and the longest have been Bible studies. Take a look at the previous issues if you’d like to get an idea of our style.

Previous SEND Issues

The deadline for articles is the 22nd of June, that’s fairly soon I’m aware, the first call for articles goes out in a smaller group. That will be the final deadline for SEND Issue #4 and we will then start looking for articles for SEND Issue #5 which will release in September. We can’t promise to publish every article we receive and we may need to edit any articles we accept, though we will always work with you to make sure we’re both happy. SEND is a free magazine with no adverts or revenue, so please be aware that you won’t be compensated for contributing.
